CREATING A MINDFUL HOME
In a conversation with Josefin Dahlberg, we discuss the concept of a "Mindful Home" - a space that offers comfort, relaxation, and energy recovery.
FOCUS ON THE FEELING
Today's interior design trends and styles can create stress. It can be overwhelming to constantly strive for a trendy and stylish home. Instead, try focusing less on how your home looks and more on how it makes you feel.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN STYLE
You don’t have to follow every trend. Your home should be a relaxing place for recovery and well-being.
HOLTON BOOKSHELF AT JOSEFIN'S HOME
– In my apartment, I've chosen a lot of light wood, earthy tones, natural materials, and stone. It gives me a soothing feeling. I also love our HOLTON bookshelf from Rowico Home. It perfectly aligns with the atmosphere I want at home, with its beautiful wood tone and a design that is both classic and simple with that extra touch, says Josefin.
CREATE A SPACE FOR RECOVERY
A while ago, we created a relaxing workspace in Josefin's office with the HAMMOND sofa, SULLIVAN coffee table, and HOLTON mirror in light wood and earthy colours.
– That part of the office, I love. It's where I find a sense of well-being and recovery during the workday, says Josefin.
FIND YOUR ENERGY
Consider what you want to feel in your home. One tip is to have timeless furniture and then add an accent colour. A vibrant colour detail can add energy, while earthy tones provide a sense of calm. Red and orange bring more liveliness, while green creates a relaxing atmosphere. What energies do you want to be inspired by?
ORGANIZE YOUR HOME
It's truly refreshing to declutter, organize, and minimize the number of things at home. Keep only the items that bring you positive energy.
JOSEFIN DAHLBERG'S TOP TIPS FOR A MINDFUL HOME
1. Write down keywords to know your preferred materials, colours, and style.
2. Tackle that drawer! Clear it out and achieve a pleasant and harmonious balance at home.
3. Embrace nature, such as plants and scents. Crystals also contribute to the home's ambiance. Your home should feel warm, cozy, and inviting.
4. Create small still lifes that you enjoy.
5. Focus on how your home feels. It's more important than having a visually perfect home.
6. A home should evoke a feeling; it should be nice to come home to.
7. Think sustainability!
8. Colours have a tremendous impact on us, so carefully consider what you need.
