Just as the house has stood here for over 80 years and retained its style, I am convinced that my furniture will do the same.

THE INTERIOR STYLE – TIMELESS WITH ROOM FOR LIFE

The foundation of Helena's interior style is timeless and well thought out. It is the small details that make the home lively and personal. She does not strive for perfection or to create a showroom – quite the opposite. Her goal is to create a home that reflects life and everyday living.

Here, there should be room for laughter, dancing, play, spills, and conversations. A home where children can grow and guests can relax. Helena's home is a place to be in, not just nice to look at.

THE COMBINATION OF PERSONAL DETAILS AND LONG-TERM INTERIOR CHOICES

When Helena decorates her home, she likens the furniture to large potted plants – stable elements that endure over time. The small details, such as cushions, candles, vases, and textiles, are like cut flowers – they are replaced seasonally and depending on the mood to be conveyed.

In this way, she creates a living room that always feels current, yet continues to maintain its foundation. The furniture remains year after year, framed by personal details that change with the seasons and specific occasions.

SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN THAT WELCOMES AND LASTS OVER TIME

Sustainable interior design is a given for Helena. She chooses furniture made from materials that last long, can be reused, and can accompany the family through different phases of life. "– Furniture that maintains style and quality over time." Says Helena.

This is clearly visible in the living room. Here, comfortable sofas and sofa chairs are ready for socializing, along with a coffee table that works just as well for game nights as for cozy moments. It is a room created for togetherness – where the interior is as functional as it is beautiful.

A LIVING ROOM FOR EVERYDAY LIFE

Helena decorates her living room for everyday life – not for show. The room should feel inviting, easy to move around in, and allow for living. "A room to be in, to have every day in" - Helena Lyth.

Here, a little mess is welcome – because that's exactly what shows that the room is used and that someone lives there. When the decor is not too arranged, it also becomes easier to keep tidy afterwards. It's not about perfection, but about creating a home that works in reality, according to Helena.

BALANCE BETWEEN TRENDS AND LONG-TERM CHOICES

Following trends does not have to be opposed to sustainable interior design and long-term choices. Helena has some wise tips for creating balance:

  • See furniture as a long-term investment. Choose with your heart and think ahead – then you will want to keep the furniture for a long time.
  • Update with details. Thoughtful furniture choices withstand trends but can easily be complemented with the season's colours and shapes.

An example is combining a classic coffee table with trendy accessories, like a colourful candlestick or a vase in this year's hue. This way, the home feels updated without compromising on sustainability or style.
