PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

  • No, unfortunately, we do not offer customizations. Our furniture is manufactured according to fixed design and product specifications and therefore cannot be altered in size, color, or material. However, we have a wide range of furniture in various styles and designs to suit different needs.

  • All extension and insert leaves are designed to fit perfectly in size and function to the respective table. However, the grain on the extension and insert leaves may run in a different direction than the tabletop, which is part of the design.

Color differences may occur because wood is a living material that changes over time. To minimize shade differences, it is recommended that extension and insert leaves be stored in the same light exposure as the table.

  • Martindale is a measure of how durable a fabric is. It is measured by rubbing a fabric-covered plate against the material until wear occurs.

    • For private use, 15,000–30,000 Martindale is recommended.
    • For furniture used daily, the fabric should have a higher Martindale value.
    • Public environments often require at least 50,000 Martindale.

The Martindale value is specified in the product description of our fabric-covered furniture.

  • Our furniture is produced at carefully selected and audited factories in Europe and Asia. We do not own any factories ourselves but work closely with our suppliers to ensure high quality, sustainable materials, and responsible manufacturing processes.

  • Protecting the environment and promoting social sustainability are fundamental to our values. We strive to choose responsibly produced materials and ensure that our production has as little impact as possible on people and the environment.

  • Yes, our suppliers commit to complying with international, national, and local laws and regulations. This includes:

    • REACH Regulation (chemical legislation within the EU).

    • The European Timber Regulation (EUTR) ensures legally harvested.

    • Rowico Homes' Code of Conduct includes social and environmental responsibility.

Suppliers are obliged to provide us with updated information about their supply chain and the origin of the wood.

  • We use carefully selected materials based on quality, durability and aesthetics. Our furniture is mainly made of:

    • Wood – A large part of our wood is FSC®-certified, which ensures responsible forestry with consideration for people and the environment. We work with both solid wood and veneer depending on the product’s design and function.

    • Metal – Used in legs, fittings and frames. The metal is surface treated to provide a hard-wearing and durable finish.

    • Fabric – A significant proportion of our textiles are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which means that the fabrics are tested and meet requirements regarding chemical content. We choose fabrics with a focus on comfort, function and long service life.

    • Leather – We use both genuine leather and PU leather in selected products. Genuine leather is a durable natural material that ages beautifully and develops a unique patina over time. PU leather (polyurethane leather) is an easy-care synthetic alternative with a more uniform appearance.

    • HPL (High Pressure Laminate) – A hard-wearing and durable surface material used in certain table tops. HPL is resistant to scratches, heat and stains, which makes it particularly suitable for furniture used on a daily basis.

    • Rattan – A natural material used in certain furniture to create an airy and vibrant expression. Rattan provides a warm feeling and contributes natural variations in colour and structure.

    • Travertine – A sedimentary limestone with natural pores and variations that give each product a unique expression. Travertine is more porous than marble and can therefore be more sensitive to acids and liquids.

    • Marble – A natural stone characterised by its unique veining and elegant surface. As marble is a natural material, variations in colour and pattern occur, which makes each product unique.
  • A significant proportion of the fabrics used in our furniture are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This means that the fabrics are tested and meet requirements regarding the content of harmful chemicals.

We choose our textiles with a focus on comfort, function and long service life, and collaborate with suppliers who work in accordance with established standards for materials and quality.

  • We choose materials based on:

    • Quality and durability – The materials should last long and withstand daily use.

    • Chemical safety – We comply with REACH and other relevant regulations.

    • Environmental impact – We prioritize FSC®-certified wood and other sustainable options.

    • Aesthetics – Design and feel are important factors when choosing materials.

We continuously work to improve our material choices and minimize our environmental impact.

  • The surface treatment varies depending on the furniture and material:

    • Oiled furniture – Treated with transparent or pigmented oil.

    • Lacquered furniture – Has a protective lacquer surface that is easy to maintain.

    • Rubio Monocoat – An oil treatment used on some dining tables for a durable and maintenance-free surface.

Information about surface treatment can be found in the respective product description.
