HOW TO CREATE A

PERSONAL EASTER TABLE SETTING

EASTER TABLE SETTING WITH CARE

Give your guests that little extra this Easter and set the table with a personal touch that makes the dinner memorable. Let recurring colors set the tone and create a cohesive theme in the table setting, while each guest receives a personal greeting. Add Easter decorations and spring details to create an atmospheric environment that extends beyond just the dining table.

CREATE THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE WITH DIFFERENT COLORS AND MATERIALS

To create an inviting atmosphere for the Easter dinner, coffee break, or breakfast, consider whether you want a tablecloth. A tablecloth in white, yellow, green, or any other color that evokes Easter and spring becomes a nice base and a beautiful centerpiece for the setting. If you instead want to highlight the table's surface, you can use placemats in spring-like or neutral tones, depending on the feeling you want to create.

When it comes to porcelain, there are many ways to combine. You can keep everything in one color – pastel, earthy beige, or classic white. If you instead want to create contrast, you can start with a larger plate in a neutral shade and then add a smaller plate or bowl in another color. For a colorful and playful setting, you can mix different colors on the porcelain, so each guest gets their unique combination.

Don't forget coffee cups and glasses – feel free to choose something that matches the theme of your setting. Don't be afraid to mix different materials: ceramic plates, clear glass glasses, brass or silver cutlery, and textiles like tablecloths and placemats add life and character to the table.

THE LITTLE EXTRA – PERSONALIZED TABLE PLACEMENT

Make the table placement extra fun and special for your guests by creating personalized fortune eggs. The perfect combination of a fortune cookie and a regular table placement. Each guest receives a hollow egg with a personal message inside and their name on the outside. This becomes a nice detail that spreads joy around the table.

YOU NEED:

  • Eggs
  • Straws
  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Marker
  • Branches to create the bird's nest

CREATE YOUR OWN FORTUNE EGGS

1. Start by making a small hole in the egg – just big enough to remove both the egg white and yolk.

2. Gently blow out the contents.

3. Rinse the egg in lukewarm water and let it dry.

4. Cut narrow, elongated strips of paper.

5. Write a personal greeting, a fortune message, or a wise piece of advice on each strip. Make them as unique and personal as possible.

6. Label each egg with the guests' names – use a marker or a fine pen.

7. Roll up the notes as small as you can. Use a toothpick or another slim object to gently insert the note into the egg through the hole.

8. Shape small bird nests from branches – preferably birch twigs, as they are flexible and easy to shape.

9. Place the eggs in the bird nests at each place on the table.

During dinner, each guest gets to crack open their egg to reveal a fortune message – which they can read aloud or keep to themselves. A lovely and personal moment around the table.

Either keep the eggs in their natural state – white, brown, or speckled – or paint them in various colors. It’s a perfect activity for children to do a few days in advance, letting their crafts become part of the table setting.

EASTER TABLE SETTING WITH FLOWERS – INVITE NATURE TO THE TABLE

Traditional Easter flowers like daffodils are perfect in both pots, bouquets, or small vases placed along the table. Tulips in all the colors of the rainbow spread a spring feeling and look extra nice together with eucalyptus or baby's breath – perfect for a modern and airy feel. Use several smaller vases for a playful setting, or opt for a larger arrangement in the middle of the table, or at one end, to create a real eye-catcher.

If you want to add a more grand floral detail, hydrangea – or other larger flowers – is a beautiful choice. They work just as well fresh as dried and can continue to serve as a decorative detail in the home even after dinner.

EASTER TWIGS AS DECORATION – OR AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE BOUQUET

Easter twigs are a beloved tradition that adorns many homes during Easter. You can easily create your own with branches from the garden, which you decorate with eggs and feathers in various colors and sizes for a playful feel. Add a personal touch to the Easter twigs by blowing out the eggs and painting them in different colors.

The Easter twigs don't just have to be a decoration in the hall or living room – they are equally suitable as a centerpiece on the dining table. Place them in a nice vase for a playful and personal detail as an alternative to the classic flower bouquet.
