As a food inspirer, food has always had a natural place in Markiz Tainton’s home. But over time, something else has become at least as important – the moments around the dining table. In her living room, the dining area and socialising now meet in a carefully considered balance, where every surface is allowed to be part of the life that unfolds with family and friends.

Markiz loves gathering family and friends at her home. She loves everything from planning what she will cook to setting the table and then serving the food. Being able to do this in a living room where a mix of materials, stone and wood, such as the Brooksville coffee table, really helps her find a good balance and lets her creativity flourish.

In Markiz’s home, the living room is a natural gathering place for conversation, everyday life and shared moments, quite simply where most things take shape.  A round, extendable dining table, such as Maddock, makes it easy to adapt to how many people are gathering, and to create space for both small and large occasions.

After a long day, the sofa becomes a place for rest and presence. With the modular sofa Duncan, there is the flexibility to let the furniture follow life. Today, Markiz has three modules without armrests but a Driscoll coffee table between two of the modules; when the need changes, she can easily buy additional modules or a footstool.
