CREATE A BRIGHT HOME SUMMER DECORATING

SUMMER FEELING INDOORS

In the summer, we usually focus on being outdoors. But remember to also let the feeling of summer become a part of the home indoors. Here are four tips on how to bring the summer feeling inside.

1. MAKE ROOM FOR SUMMER CLOTHES

When summer is here, it is high time to clear away winter jackets and shoes from the hall. It's time to make room on the hat and shoe shelf for the light summer garments and shoes. So take the opportunity to look over the clothes and shoes that are to be put away (so that they are nice when you bring them out again) and then make room for just a few items of clothing and shoes that you know you will use a lot all summer. Airiness is a good summer feeling!

2. BRING IN NATURE

A simple trick to create a summer feeling indoors is to decorate with plants and flowers. Make it easy and buy a bouquet, or why not bring in a self-picked bouquet and small cuttings from the garden? Take the opportunity to decorate with your own picks now that it's in season. Plants fit in every room of the home.

3. LIGHT TEXTILES

Bright tones of materials and textiles bring the summer months to your mind. In the bedroom where you have a lot of textiles, it is the curtains, the bedding, and the carpet that together create a soft and pleasant feeling that you associate with summer. If you don't have large windows, like the bedroom in the picture, you don't want to shut out the wonderful light, but then you can add textiles on any wall, and you keep the summery feeling regardless of the season. A thin plaid, preferably in a colour that stands out, also contributes to a lovely summer feeling.

4. BRIGHT MATERIALS

Natural materials in furniture automatically bring warmth to the home. To enhance the summer, it is an advantage to choose light woods and complement them with small details such as a twig, linen fabric, glass, and porcelain. Simply invite nature into the home, and with it comes the feeling of summer.
