HILKE COLLECTION MEETS ROWICO HOME
When Giovanna Hilke, the founder of the Hilke Collection brand, discovered Rowico Home, she found several furniture pieces that she loved and moved into her villa outside Linköping.
TIMELESS, BEAUTIFUL DESIGN
Giovanna Hilke founded Hilke Collection in 2015, a company that develops self-designed interior products, jewelry, and porcelain in classic, feminine, and stylish designs. The vision behind the brand is to create timeless and beautiful designs for modern and elegant homes, created with love and responsible production. Something that Giovanna and her company have in common with Rowico Home.
After discovering Rowico Home during a fair in Stockholm, Giovanna furnished a large part of her home with Rowico Home furniture.
FURNISH WITH ROWICO HOME
Giovanna has decorated many homes over the years and has also studied interior design alongside her business. And the last time she redecorated her living room and dining area at home, she chose several pieces of furniture from Rowico Home.
- When I discovered Rowico Home and their stylish furniture that is designed and created with sustainability in mind, I immediately felt that I wanted to have furniture from them when we were renovating at home, says Giovanna.
COMBINING BROWN AND WHITEWASHED OAK
The choice fell on the EMMETT dining table together with RODHAM chairs in the dining area. A fantastic combination where the whitewashed oak meets the brown oak.
To top it off, Hilke Collection's Alto Basso candle holders in nickel-plated brass and walnut-oiled oak match perfectly with the furniture.
HAMMOND IN THE LIVING ROOM
In Giovanna's living room, the HAMMOND sofa and coffee table were placed under the AUCKLAND carpet.
- I love the feeling of exclusivity, high quality and well-crafted design, so the choice for the living room fell easily on the Hammond coffee table with brown marble and the frame in brown-oiled oak, which is consistent on both the coffee table and sofa, says Giovanna.
THE STORY OF THE HILKE COLLECTION
Giovanna is a very exciting person who has had an amazing journey with her company. How did it all start?
– I've always been creative since I was a child, and after high school, I educated me to a mechanical engineer. I worked in that field for a few years, but when my second child was born and my father passed away, I gained a new perspective on life and quit my job as an engineer to focus on my hobby. I started making my own candlesticks out of copper pipes, concrete tables, and other creative projects. At first, it was just a hobby, but as demand grew, we had to convert a room in our apartment into a warehouse. I created products and ran down to the grocery store several times a day to ship orders. Eventually, it became unsustainable, so I started focusing on designing and submitting to various factories until I found a good manufacturer that works with sustainability and quality. After production was established, Hilke Collection really took off, and I have since continued to work on what I am passionate about, says a satisfied Giovanna.
INSPIRATION CAN BE FOUND EVERYWHERE
What inspires you in your design work and interior design?
- EVERYTHING! The forest, houses, roads, squares, people, and emotions. One of my favorite rings was inspired by a lamp I saw in combination with a castle in southern Italy.
In Giovanna's home and designs, there is a mix of earthy colours, wood, marble, metal, stone, and glass. Everything that represents a beautiful and timeless design to Giovanna.
