STUDIO IN ABOUT SS26
CREATIVE DIRECTION
When we at Rowico Home were to present SS26, we brought in Atta and Maja from Studio In to work on the creative direction and styling for our latest Scandinavian collection.
CONTEMPORARY AND TIMELESS COLLECTION
When stylists Atta and Maja first explored Rowico Home’s latest Scandinavian furniture collection, it was above all how naturally it speaks to the way we live today that captured them. With its roots in Scandinavian design heritage and subtle references to previous decades, the collection feels calm, assured and quietly expressive. They felt that it gave them a strong foundation on which to build a visual narrative – one that feels both contemporary and timeless.
MIX WOOD TYPES AND TONES
In the creative direction and styling, Studio In worked deliberately with personal expressiveness. Instead of presenting the furniture in fixed sets, they wanted to show how the different pieces can be combined more freely. Mixing chairs around the dining table that do not necessarily belong to the same series, or offsetting lighter wood types with darker tones, creates depth and a more vibrant feel. The focus was on finding balance – allowing variation while a clear common thread runs through form, proportions and materiality. This reflects a broader change in today’s interior design. Homes are becoming increasingly personal and layered, with furniture that adapts to different contexts and expressions depending on how they are styled. Rowico Home’s collection embraces this flexibility.
A HOME THAT FEELS GENUINE
One of Studio In’s favourites from the collection is the Barnaby armchair and lounge chair in wood/textile; according to Atta and Maja, they reflect an important direction that they, together with Rowico Home, worked on during the season – comfort combined with elegance. The rounded shapes and refined wooden details give the piece of furniture a sculptural yet inviting expression. Around the dining table, Barnaby works equally well on its own as it does mixed with other chair models. Together with a Barnaby lounge chair, the same design language can run through several rooms in the home.
Another piece of furniture that Studio In immediately took a liking to was Kilian – a console table in wood with an airy expression and well-balanced proportions. Styled sparingly, it is perceived as minimalist and architectural; when complemented with objects, it becomes warmer and more personal.
In summary, we perceive the collection as timeless yet contemporary – furniture created to endure over time, both in terms of quality and expression.
