WORK FROM HOME CREATE A PRACTICAL WORKSPACE

BECOME A MASTER AT WORKING FROM HOME

Do you find it difficult to concentrate when you are at home? Are you easily distracted or do you stay fully focused all day? Here are the tricks to finding focus when you work from home.

KEEP YOUR MORNING ROUTINE

Get into your usual work routine by getting up at the same time as usual, getting dressed, having breakfast and why not take a short walk as if you were on your way to your workplace.

SET GOALS

Make work a little more enjoyable by setting a few goals for the day. What do you want to manage to do during the working day? Workwise and private. Write these down and give yourself a pat on the back every time it is time to tick off a point. Perhaps you can treat yourself to getting outside for a while at lunch?

WORK EFFICIENTLY

Make sure you schedule your day, including your breaks. So it does not turn into a lot of idle scrolling on your mobile phone or watching TV. Put your phone away if it is not your most important work tool and sit in a good position with good lighting. Stand up and stretch when it is time for a short break, go and get a coffee or listen to your favourite song to think about something else for a while. Get a breath of fresh air and then sit back down comfortably again. Remember that micro breaks are not an opportunity to plough through a few episodes of your favourite series, but keep them short.

CHOICE OF WORKPLACE

Most people would probably agree that it is more comfortable to sit in bed and work. But half-lying down and working rarely turns out well. After all, the bed is a place that our brains associate with relaxation and sleep. Instead, sit in a place you associate with work, for example at a desk. If you do not have a desk, the dining table is often the best place. Also make sure you have a comfortable chair.

FOR THE SPACIOUS HOME OFFICE

If you have the luxury of having a separate room for your office, the HALIFAX desk is an obvious choice. With its timeless black finish and generous work surface, it creates a stable base for your working day. Combine it with the GLADSTONE armchair in light beige and black – a chair that blurs the line between dining chair and office chair. Gladstone offers the ergonomic comfort you need for long meetings, while the soft textile upholstery gives the room a cosy feel.

CHOOSE A COMFORTABLE ARMCHAIR FOR YOUR DESK

At a desk, it is a great advantage to use a chair with arms. It gives you the possibility to relieve your shoulders by resting your forearms, while at the same time providing a significantly more cosy and secure feeling than a classic office chair.

Today, more and more people choose to furnish with armchairs even at the dining area to create a luxurious and cohesive atmosphere in the home. For those who prioritise high comfort, the MERRICK armchair is a fantastic option. With its soft upholstery and embracing armrests, it is ideal for both focused work and an afternoon coffee break. It works just as well at the dining table as at your dedicated work corner.

FOR THE SMALLER SPACE OR LIVING ROOM

Do you have limited space? The SPRINGDALE desk is neat in its design but does not compromise on style. Its clean black lines allow it to blend in perfectly in a living room or bedroom. To soften the graphic expression, we recommend the ALISON armchair equipped with a swivel function. The light fabric contrasts naturally with the black and creates a harmonious working environment that does not feel like an office. ALISON is available in several different fabrics and has chair legs in both wood and metal.

STORAGE

If you sit and work at your dining table, it is a good idea to have some concealed storage nearby so you can easily put your things away there when the working day is over. Otherwise, it is easy for work and home life to blend into each other and for you to continue thinking about work matters or work for far too long.

A cabinet is both practical and spacious. It is perfect for stowing away your laptop, papers, pens, notebooks and binders when you do not want to have them out.
