FURNISH A MODERN WINTER CABIN
A popular retreat in both winter and summer time is the mountains. When we get to the mountains, we desire a certain environment both outside and inside. We want to experience lovely nature at the same time as we want the warm and cozy feeling in the winter cabin.
In terms of interior design, it can be difficult for many to achieve the right feeling and at the same time create a modern winter cabin, so we have collected some concrete advice and tips here.
THE RIGHT FEELING IN THE ENTRANCE
As soon as you enter the cabin, natural materials give you a warm welcome. Different types of wood that harmonize combined with good storage are A and O. In this cabin, we have completed the spacious wardrobe with a CONFETTI bench where you can easily store the smaller things such as beanies and
gloves.
DINING PLACE FOR MANY
In a winter cabin, it is wise to invest in a proper dining area, with room for everyone living there. A large part of life in the mountains is the cozy dinners and then you want to be able to sit and eat well. Here we have chosen the rustic EMMETT dining table in solid brown-oiled oak together with the ALISON chair, an upholstered swivel chair, comfortable to sit in for many hours. Also, don't forget a warming sheepskin, candlesticks, a fine table setting, and green twigs or flowers, it creates an extra comfortable feeling after a long day on the ski slope.
THE LIVING ROOM - A SOCIAL AREA
In the living room, we have chosen to place a SHELTON coffee table and two SHELTON sofas. Two sofas facing each other create a pleasant social area in front of the fire and are perfect for reading a book, drinking a glass of wine, or just sitting and talking or playing games.
ROOM FOR RELAXATION
Being able to enjoy, relax and take it easy in the cabin environment is at least as important as outdoor activities in the mountains. So don't forget the room for relaxation. In the bedroom, we have chosen the wooden headboard RIGGINS to continue creating the solid feel of the mountain cabin. Beautiful natural materials such as linen and wool in the bedding give the bedroom the right overall feeling.
A PLACE FOR CREATIVITY
If there is room in the cabin, it is also very nice to have a proper sitting area with a desk to have the possibility to write, draw or use the computer. On the upper floor of this house, under sloping ceilings and wooden planks, we have chosen to place the HALIFAX desk together with the NORWELL armchair. It is a place in the house where light flows in and you have a fantastic view of the treetops. It could not be more inspiring and a perfect place for both relaxation and creativity.
THE BATHROOM
In a bathroom in a winter cabin, it is nice to be greeted by the warmth of different material choices that harmonize with each other. We have chosen the MILFORD bench, which with its black painted oak matches nicely with the other black details in the bathroom and gives the opportunity to put away clothes and towels.
NATURAL MATERIALS
The common thread through a house with a mountain feel is natural materials that convey a rustic sense of tranquility. It is created with natural materials in earthy tones that match each other. But don't be afraid to match different colours of earthy woods and natural materials, as long as the tones harmonize, it gives the house an extra cozy feeling.
